Anh (Annie) Tran
Anh (Annie) Tran was born on May 30, 1998, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and has been in love with her mother’s cooking ever since. She is an F&B enthusiast, an amateur food photographer and writer. Annie enjoys traveling and tasting world cuisines, but particularly favors being awa-
kened by the aromas of her mother’s kitchen and the sound of her sizzling pan making breakfast every morning. Her fondest and earliest memory is daily tasting “Banh Cuon” (Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls) at her family’s small food stand right before heading to class. From that moment forward, Annie has never wanted to leave the food scene. During 2019, she spent a total of six spring/summer months on the island of Crete as a Drexel University Vidalakis Scholar, working at the “Ideal Hotel and Restaurant Group”. This way, she became part of the “Ideal” family, firsthand witnessing and living the farm-to-the-table idea located at the roots of the Mediterranean diet, namely the Cretan foodways.
