Maria Kotzamani

She was in Athens in 1938. After finishing high school she studied History of Art and French Literature at the University of Sorbonne in France. Her editorial career began in 1960 from the magazine “IMAGES”. After that she worked at the “NOONDAY”, the “WOMAN”, “THE NEWS”, and since 1984 until her retirement at the “NATION”, whre she always occupied herself with the artistic reportage.

Maria Kotzamani used to be a commissioner of Greece in all of the known artistic biennials of visual arts since 1965. Moreover, she performed herself as a member of the artistic committees and president of the Greek Critics of Art Association, as well as, a member of National History of Art Association. As an art historian she organized a lot of monographic exhibitions at institutional places like the National Art Gallery and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art. Some of her books are; “Jewellery-Antijewellery”, “The Obsolete”, “Eleni Vernardaki”, “Eleni Zogopoulou”, “Christos Karras”, etc.
